All Hail Mighty Interwebs

Check out Sugarwilla.  She has an excellent post on trying to seperate the Interwebs from RL.  Like everything in life moderation is the key.  I too have an obsession with the internet.  That’s not necessarily a bad thing though, just as long as you don’t find it interferring with the things you need to get done.  The internet is the greatest source of information on the planet.  Nothing compares.  People always ask me “How do you know that?” or “where do you get all this information”, it’s the internet.  I’m a big fan of social networking sites (twitter, facebook, myspace, etc…) but these aren’t my favourite part of the internet.  In fact, aside from the crazy zealots that shouldn’t be allowed to breath even, social networking is my least favourite part of the internet.

Anything you could ever want to know or see is on the internet. Wikipedia, although alterable, is the most reliable and encompassing source of information on the planet.  It is governed by everyone. Astronomy pictures of the day help one regale at the glory of man’s achievements in the awe inspiring magnitude of the Universe.  The EOL just started recently, all of the earth’s life catalogued into one site contributed from all over the planet.  Of course my favourite blogs: Pharyngula and Friendly Atheist help keep me grounded in my disdain for all that’s relgious, 2 very brilliant people with similar ideals that maintain a constant rational view of everything.  And then when all else fails, stumble will find you something you needed to know.

Please don’t leave us forever Sugarwilla, just until you control your twitter urge.  Really it should only be used to escape the parts of reality you don’t want to be a part of.  For me, work.

I just spent far too long on the font for this post. Don’t ask me why it’s fucked, I don’t know, just live with it.
